Cost Accountant - Towcester
We are currently recruiting a Cost Accountant to join a leading Engineering client based in Towcester.
As a Cost Accountant you will be supporting the UK plant manager and the UK VP of Operations.
Build strong relationships with operation leadership & peers to support & drive overall operational targets.
Manage monthly closing process for UK plant including accruals, inventory costing
Provide value added detailed analysis of manufacturing variances, inflation/ deflation, productivity metrics and standard margins.
Support weekly & monthly operating reviews including revenue reviews, inventory and operating reviews.
Prepare yearly Budget roll ups, monthly estimates and track variances to actuals.
Provide leadership in controllership and ensure compliance with UK & US GAAP in relation to inventory accounting/ physical inventory controls and standard costing.
Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
Lead and manage the quarterly excess and obsolete inventory review process.
Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
Represent Finance/Accounting on lean projects designed to improve operations, reduce costs
You as the ideal candidate will require:
An Accounting qualification - ACCA / CIMA / ICAS etc.
Relevant Finance experience in a Manufacturing environment
Excellent Analytical skills
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with SAP
Good Communication skills
